New Name

I've been using the name Daisy Fennec since I started maintaining my own website in 2023. It was a very natural decision because I was already using that name in IRL furry spaces - Daisy is the name of my first fursuit. It's also the name I use on certain social media accounts, though accounts I use very infrequently.

However, I've become increasingly detached from this name for whatever reason. Part of me thinks it's related to my worsening gender dysphoria, but then again my real name (which was given to me at birth) is pretty similar to Daisy, feminine for the same reasons, and I very much identify with my real name. So who knows. For whatever reason, I'm not loving Daisy anymore.

I kept using the name in online spaces since I was continuing to use it as my "furry name" IRL, I guess. Buuut I made and debuted an epic new fursuit in October of my fursona, and I no longer even really intend to wear/perform as Daisy IRL anymore. (A bit of an aside, I'm keeping my old suit mostly for taking to cons, since some of my friends have expressed interest in fursuiting at cons and don't have suits themselves.) Anyway, the point is, I'm using the name I've chosen for my fursona in IRL spaces now. Really the only place I still go by Daisy is here. So I think it's time for me to entirely retire the pseudonym.

The new name I've chosen is Lewis. Lewis Leslie, if you want a surname tacked on.

I stole the name Lewis from a character in my current favorite book, Susan Swan's The Wives of Bath. Do note that just because this book is my favorite, that does not mean I think it's good or even worth reading. It pretty much sucks and it's not worth the effort to obtain a physical copy. Lewis is the name of main character Pauline Sykes' male persona. I relate to the character a lot which is why I took his name. :3

The gif at the top of the page is a clip I grabbed from the film adaptation of the book, Léa Pool's Lost and Delirious, though it's a different character than the one I stole my name from I thought it was a fitting exchange.

As a bonus point, my sona is a labrador, and the alliteration is fun.

TLDR Daisy Fennec is no longer and I'd like to be called Lewis. But I felt like making a post about the name change in order to avoid any confusion and to share some tidbits about my choices.
