Merry Christmas Eve, netizens! Or if you don't celebrate Christmas then just, like, good evening. o^_^o
I don't really get that Christmas-spirited in these recent years, honestly.
First of all, I live in Arizona. Not in any of the pretty parts, but in the desert part where our winter is just like our summer except mildly cool instead of deadly fucking surface-of-the-sun-like hot. So, like ... the season itself isn't really festive just by the force of nature.
And then this year specifically, I've just been stressed out of my puny canine mind for the past couple months! Woof! Between all of the grinding at end-of-semester shit for school and like budgeting towards gifts, my broke ass has found no peace since the rest of the world switched to daylight savings.
Like, it just hasn't been fun or wintery or whimsical. I'm just tired. >.<
BUT! Despite that, it's Christmas Eve anyway and things are nice anyway and I'm feeling good anyway. It's refreshing, finally. And it's got me feeling grateful.
At the risk of being a sappy loser, I want to jot down some things that I'm really grateful for in the last year. Yeah. Wuff.
- The bomb-ass meal I ate tonight - It was seriously so good. My mom made a New York strip roast and just like hoooly fuck it was so good. Canines such as myself are natural carnivores so you know I was tearing that shit up. And my grandma had provided several of her CLASSIC[ly delicious] dishes. Roasted brussel sprouts with bacon and shallots. Scalloped potatoes. Caprese salad EXCEPT instead of the normal mozarella we had it with fucking. Burrata tonight. THAT SHIT WAS SO SCRUMPTIOUS I could not get enough. I simply could not get enough like SHIT that meal was BANGING.
- My awesome computer - This magnificent device that I'm writing code on right now was my combined birthday/Christmas gift of 2022 and god damnnn is it super awesome!! It's primary purpose is digital art and animation, and it has really fucking good specs and graphics - it's honestly made it so much more enjoyable and efficient to do my hobbies in the past year and I'm super grateful. My old shitbox of a laptop had probably the worst screen known to man, like one million viruses and bitcoin miners, it was slow as shit, old as shit, and had no storage or RAM. And it could barely run any simple design software it was honestly a chore to draw x_x. My new machine ... God, she's gorgeous! Beautiful color-accurate display with high pixel density, and reeeaaally nice CPU/GPU that make anything and everything I need/want to run smooth as butter. Terabyte of storage and RAM for DAYSSS. Fast and efficient and I have taken such great care of her over the past year - NO VIRUSES OR MINERS!!!! #yay. It's been a dream drawing and animating all year with no issues. My first ever new 'puter and she is my baby I love her so much it is the best gift I have ever recieved and I will keep using her for many years hopefully. I love this computer.
- Summer camp and working there - I attended the same awesome summer camp since I was like nine and this year I completed their CIT/Counselor In Training program and then worked as a counselor for the rest of the summer! Many of my most cherished childhood memories were made as a camper and it was honestly sort of surreal being on the other end, as the caretaker and the facilitator of the formation of those precious memories for the next generation of awesome camp kids. I feel like I learned a lot and I grew up A LOT this summer and in the end I'm really thankful for it! It's really DIFFERENT, but still really FUN being there as a counselor. And I'm glad to have this continued experience with one of my favorite places on Earth. PLUS, I made some really great friends who I now cherish dearly. It was just a really awesome experience this summer and I can't wait to do it all over again next summer.
- My dearest friends, old and new - I could go on about each one of 'em for a long time ... us dogs, we love full-heartedly and unconditionally, and we're loyal to a fault ... but I don't need to get THAT sappy on my public blog. "^_^ But yeah I love my friends a lot. I feel like I'm slowly getting better at socializing and learning to be a person, and I think I've grown a lot in terms of my abilities to form and maintain meaningful relationships in the past year. If any of my dear friends are reading, you should know I love you a lot!!! Woof woof woof!!!
- And everything else that's good - So, as much as I'd like to keep droning on, it's past midnight now and erm!!! I still have a lot of giftwrapping to do!!!! I don't even have opposable thumbs so it takes me much longer than the average human!!! I need to get going but yeah life is cool sometimes. Sometimes I'm glad I'm alive. Merry Christmas or happy normal day.
